• The appliance has an electronic control. Each function or operating step is acknowledged by one or several
signal tones.
• If the appliance is switched on and there is no further button pressed within 60 seconds, the appliance will
switch into standby mode with one beep and the display will extinguish.
• You will hear several “CLICK” sounds during the tea making process. This is normal and will not result
in a damage of the appliance.
1. Preparing the appliance
Connect the appliance to the mains. It is in standby mode now. This is acknowledged by an audible double signal.
• Open the lid of the water container and cautiously fill in cold water. Observe the “min” and “max” marking of
the level indicator.
Note: Induced by the system, the water container will drain completely in case of overfilling (> 1 litre
of water).
• Only close the lid of the water container after the complete water has run off into the container. The lid must
stay closed during the complete tea making time!
• Pull out the filter jug and remove the lid.
• Take the strainer out of the filter jug and put it on the worktop for filling.
• To fill the strainer with loose tea, position the filling funnel onto the tea strainer and fill in some tea using the
attached tea scoop. Remove the funnel and put the strainer back into the center of the filter jug.
Note: You may as well put tea bags with pre-portioned tea into the strainer.
• Put the lid on the strainer jug and insert it into the appliance from the front until the jug engages.
• Make sure that teapot and filter jug are inserted correctly into the appliance.
Otherwise it is not possible to start the appliance.
2. Selecting programme and brewing temperature
• To activate the tea maker you have to push the MENU“ button. The appliance will quit the standby mode
and the desired programme can be selected by touching the “MENU“ button several times.
WARNING: Hazard of injury and burns! During operation, surfaces
are getting hot (e.g. appliance, teapot, filter jug, strainer and hot
plate) and might stay hot also after switch-off for a while!
